Usually, the interaction between babies and computers isn’t very inspiring. I cringe when I see a toddler mash the keyboard and poke at the screen. I’m nominally unimpressed by their productivity and the quality of their output. I know, they’re babies. Babies and computers, how could they possibly mix?

When simplicity is at the core of your design. Behold, an ordinary healthy 1yr old uses the iPhone. Notice that the babies gestures are understood and correctly executed by the device. What is a cool, innovative gadget to me is the emerging shape of the technology this child will take for granted. Future, wow.

And, for a more involved look at how much of the phone’s use this youngster has picked up, check out this extra video.

AND, I promise this is the last iPhone-booster post that I’ll make for a while.

  1. That is pretty awesome, and does speak to the super-elegant design of the device.

There is a slight creepiness about the way the parents seem to be reinforcing in their kid the wondrous advantages of the iPhone. “It’s easy to use, isn’t it? Isn’t it?”

  2. I’d forgotten how elegant the iPhone is. In the hype/counter-hype it’s difficult to grasp whether it really is as fantastic as claimed. In that second video it does look really slick though. You almost want to buy it just so you can show people that you have such a pretty toy.

And Darren, you’re right about it being creepy. It’s almost like they’re trying to get picked up by Apple to make their next iPhone ads.
